Introduction
Flatco Real Estate Kft. embarked on an ambitious project to modernize their operations and enhance customer engagement. As a trailblazer in the Hungarian market, Flatco is unique in building entire residential buildings for the purpose of renting out all the apartments themselves. To achieve this, they sought an IT partner capable of quickly and cost-effectively revitalizing their website and creating a comprehensive digital system for managing tenant affairs.
Team Composition
The project's success is attributed to a dedicated team consisting of two UX designers, a frontend developer, a senior PHP developer, a senior WordPress developer, and a project manager. This diverse team ensured a holistic approach, covering all aspects of software development, from initial design to final implementation and beyond.
Technology Stack
The development leveraged PHP, WordPress, and Business Intelligence (BI) tools to create a robust and scalable foundation. The platform was designed to be adaptable for future expansions, including Android and iOS applications.
Requirements
Flatco required a certified login account system for tenants (web + future mobile apps) where they could track rental agreement details, from basic data to bill tracking, expense monitoring, and fault reporting. Each tenant would receive access to a personalized dashboard automatically generated upon lease signing. This dashboard would be deactivated automatically upon tenant departure. The system needed to track apartment bills, consumption meters with graphical reports, and handle fault reporting with automatic notifications to the technical team. Tenants should also be able to request maintenance services through the platform. Additionally, landlords needed a feature to monitor their tenants through detailed reports.
Challenges and Solutions
The project faced several challenges, including creating a secure and flexible architecture capable of integrating with various external services seamlessly. The requirement for automatic account creation and deactivation based on SAP ticketing demanded meticulous planning and implementation. To address these challenges, the team employed strategic planning, innovative design, and technical excellence. They conducted a thorough UX audit and developed a UX design plan tailored to enhance user experience.
